Making the wheels for my new bigger 26" bandsaw I'm planning on building.
To cut down on weight and inertia, I'm making these hollow.

I’m sure that I am speaking for a lot of people when I say Thank you for your videos. Especially during this very terrible situation we are in. It’s very exciting when I get a notification that you have gave us another one of your videos. Keep up the good work and stay safe 👍🏻

When I first opened the video I thought you’d be making hollow wheels for one of the current bandsaws. It’s a new giant bandsaw! Yes!

I think what I like most about your videos is you show your process of figuring things out. I've been a subscriber for many years now, and still enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing and teaching, please keep it up the good work!

Mathias... you are truly a master.

Thank you for motivating me to put the tinkering in my brain, to wood and steel.

Genius man, thank you for sharing your skills. Bearing mount tip, freeze them to shrink them prior to fit up. You won’t have to compress the wood fibres getting the bearing in place and you will get a tighter fit as a result.

Bloody hell! That was just in time, Matthias, thank you! I've got exactly the same task - building a 26" bandsaw wheel to replace the original on a huge "industrial grade" bandsaw. -I don't know what they were thinking about, but they made the top wheel out of a solid chunk of casting! It doesn't only weigh about 50 kg but actually rips apart thin blades while stopping because only the lower wheel has a brake!

Matthias, Please know you inspired me to make this. I am starting on it slowly, I finally tweaked my normal craftsman band saw to be able to cut but its really little. I never understood how the blade guide worked ever just did not make sense. Then I was watching a video, then all the sudden you showed a angle that made sense. I went to sleep that night thinking, wow if this works ill finally be able to cut thicker wood, and the blade wont wiggle. I went down stairs the next morning, tweaked it just like your home made one, first cut a flawless radius of 3' through 5/8' plywood, was pleased. Took that to some .5' maple did the same thing. So I was like hmm, if I fixed this, then is it possible I may be able to fix my radial arm saw? Well guess what that thing cuts true now. Its all from you matthias you have inspired me in so many ways so thank you so much. I am working on making a 2 door folding cabinet for all my tools to sit in. Then off to making this new band saw, then im using the band saw to help me make the 12" planner you made. :) If it all turns out ill make a video for you, showing my failure lol.

I've always really enjoyed how thrifty you are when it comes to having a woodshop without investing a ton of cash. But you know what is honestly impressive? Your bandsaw skill "Oh let me just chop down this giant circular item free hand"

I subscribed to your channel many years ago. Can't remember how many years past. I'm still amazed how creative you are, and how much work you willing to put in your ideas. Thanks for motivation :)

I’m always flabbergasted and inspired by the build challenges you take on. I would have enjoyed having you as a professor in college for the calculated yet straightforward approach you take to finding a way to tackle any challenge. Great work!

So how heavy were these now compared to the old ones? ^^ Was waiting for that.
