I came straight from Total War to HOI4, so i put 200 divisions in one army in a single tile and moved it around manually.

My first game was as the swiss but I didn’t know too much about ww2 history so I was expecting to get attacked by germany and italy and ended up staying neutral until 1943. I googled when Switzerland was attacked and realized my mistake. I ended up joining the allies and got destroyed within 1 month. Thank you hoi4 for all my ww2 knowledge!

First time i played, i went germany ofc. Basically I didnt do any focuses, instantly rushed tiger research and died to switzerland because i thought they would be easy to invade.

I remember the first time I played hoi4 I had like 30 communist revolts, I don’t even know how I lost that much stability and gained that much resistance, I have yet to properly replicate the chain of events that lead to multiple communist germanys

I left the Washington naval treaty so I could build larger warships, and then the UK and France pressured me to accept the treaty again. I promised I would but uhh… I didn’t. And they got puppet war goals on me.

I lost before 1938 and had no clue how to do any CAS or navy or even infantry lol

My first hoi4 game was GWR with a friend. I chose Nejd, my friend desperately tried teaching me the game, I didn't understand any of it and just researched stuff for around an hour before we left. I didn't play again for a few months, came back and now I love it.

I was literally trying to attack France as Germany through Alsace–Lorraine. It took a while for me to realize that there are massive debuffs for attacking there because of forts in the Maginot Line :D

But one time Italy broke through French defences in the South, France pulled of its divisions from Maginot and I reached Paris, but still did not manage to capitulate France, then France counterattacked and I lost :D I had no frontlines, generals, division templates upgraded or anything

Then I was having hard time capitulating Netherlands because Britain was flooding its ports with tons of divisions :D
