Wow. Minish Cap and Link Between Worlds got done dirty here. Both games were the best on their respective systems and were boiled down to 'gimmicks'. I guess sailing, flying, turning into a wolf, and time travel dont count eh?

Twilight Princess is my favorite. I do enjoy deeper stories, darker things and would gladly roll with the Majora's Mask's crew.

I'm an OoT guy. Polygonal fairies, let's go.

Link's Awakening will forever have a special place in my heart ❤

OOT and Majora’s Mask is where I started, and still are in my opinion the best LoZ games.

Close second is Wind Waker (who by the way has the best final Ganondorf battle of ANY game), then Minish Cap (Nintendo, please bring back Vaati!)

I guess that explains why TP is my favorite, I love a good story & characters

Twilight Princess ftw. Let's go, complex characters and intricate storylines!

Okay I have a fair few favorites:
-Link's Awakening was my first time playing Zelda. Got it along with Yellow and my first GameBoy in Christmas of '99
-Wind Waker was the first one I ever completed to the end
-Spirit Tracks felt right to me as I was a fan of Thomas growing up
-Twilight Princess was one I actually felt the most immersion and emotion with, especially given the hopeless romantic that I am. Seriously, the romantic undertones of Midna and Link's relationship was really something else and it doesn't help that the most recent manga adaptation took it even further by basically confirming MidLink as canon
-Breath of the Wild is a favorite of mine, especially with most of the callbacks to the Child Timeline. Also, Fish Waifu for the win which is why Age of Calamity I can lump in here too as it's an alternate time of events to where we stop Ganon from reviving

The hell happened to Phantom Hourglass? Also I don't think "trains" qualifies as a gimmick. And I don't think all of those games should have been jumbled up like that. They are all good in their own right so they shouldn't be put in a group because their handheld and "gimmicky."

My favorites are A Link to the Past; that's my childhood favorite. But Tears of the Kingdom was the first to truly surpass it for me. I love the classic genre defining Magnum Opus' and have a massive appreciation for all of gaming and not just stuff I grew up with. Majora's Mask is my number 3 that's perfectly fitting for number 3.

Hard one OOT, MM, WW, TP, SS, BOTW, TOTK are always contenders for the No1, I just can´t decide, all of them had a big impact and also everytime I revisit them I still love every minute of them in different ways, now portatil ALBW, PH, ST, MC are the equivalent of my No 1 but portatil or overal the next from my previous list, Phantom Hourglass being my first portatil one and also my first portatil console, then I managed to play most Zelda games except for the Four Swords from NGC which I played but never ended as it wasn´t even mine, all others where from the original versions or Wii, WiiU, DSi and 3DS e-shop, not even the online service on Switch was required for playing all those games for the first time.

Gen X here, there was nothing like Zelda in 1986. It was simply amazing

I'm partial to Majora's Mask, but I like 90s alternative music and am not a fan of My Chemical Romance.

boiling Minish Cap and ALBW down to their gimmicks is incredibly insulting. Hell my top 5 Zelda games are ALTTP, Minish Cap, Link's Awakening DX, ALBW and Wind Waker...in that order. In the end, all it says about me is that I like what I like

"You probably like the Beatles quite a lot" The Eagles, but close ;) Hilariously accurate, though, like, shockingly. My top 3 are Link to the Past, Ocarina, and Twilight Princess. I'm a millenial who loves classic rock, and adores an intricate story. And yes, I was friends with multiple Majora's Mask kids lol

I am not the typical gothic kid but I love majoras mask & dark themed things in general

I imagine a lot of it comes down to your experience with the game and other outside factors, like who you played it with, where you were in life.

Link's Awakening is not only top of my LOZ favorite list, it is one I've played every iteration of. Back in the day, I even had a walkthrough typed up for it.

I've been playing Zelda ever since the first one was released in 1986. I have memories with my dad, my siblings, my wife, and my kid. Each from different Zelda games. Because of that I have many favorites. I just love the series.
