Lost my best friend in 2009 because some absolute fool walked away from a FOB in Afghanistan and we were part of the groups trying to find info on him.

We had been together since basic. We'd been inseparable, and now I wear a metal band with his name on it. This Ogryn spoke so simply to describe a deep feeling that I've struggled with for years.

I cried with his mom, I gave a folded flag to his daughter. I had to try and understand what his wife was enduring.

People told me he died a hero, but I hate hearing that. He was my friend, and he died and a part of me died with him. This story made me cry in ways I haven't in a long time.

I don't think I know a better story than this, at least not one I can connect with so strongly.

Thank you, gentlemen. Thank you for a story that has no equal in my eyes. It truly meant more than words can describe.
