Deep-Sea Gigantism. Why the Ocean Breeds Monsters

We often hear the news that the remains of giant deep-sea creatures were washed ashore after another storm again. Some of them are new even for scientists. And here's the most amazing thing: they all tend to live at depths ranging from one thousand meters. Where even the known species are the most enormous and terrifying monsters. But what other giants are concealed by the ocean? And why can underwater monsters rise to the surface?

When it comes to the ocean, my terror and fascination are one and the same.

Can’t imagine what else is down there we haven’t witnessed yet, considering we’ve only discovered a small percent of the ocean. Scary

It crazy to me how these deep sea animals and sea animals in general will never know or be aware that there is an entire world, and universe for the matter, above the water.
Makes me think if we could be in the same position as them and there is existence right outside our reach that we cannot even begin to comprehend.

It's funny how these animals are presented as vicious monstrosities when in reality they instantly die in small pressure changes or eating something a little too big.

All that deepsee talk and how giant stuff gets down there makes it even more impressive that the biggest creature ever, first still exists and second exists so close to us

Could it potentially be the fact that the pressure and location of how deep they are has rendered next to no predators at the depth allowing for a species to thrive and live longer. Or potentially minerals sink allowing for more bioavailability of mineral dense foods that may contribute to shell or body growth. Could even be the fact the pressure is hard so the body must be stronger thus size is given or some quirk to survive potentially a combo 🤷‍♂️. Speculation is all.

Would be spectacular to take one of those undersea rovers and travel deep in the ocean to explore!

The fact that the narrator keeps on saying "Just imagine if they rose up to the surface..." 😶They can't rise up to the surface. That's the whole point. A little pressure change and we'll find new species of creatures that live underwater, washed up dead on the beach.

Finally a youtuber that have been updated on how long a greenland shark lives.. the recent expedition from a multi national sientist team checked them in every way and found that the oldest sharks over 6 meter must actually all have to be atleast 500 years ... .. other channels keep talk about the old belif that they "only" got 350 years old.. that is not the case at all..
