Alaska, US- HiyaHiya is available in US, have found if i heat the cables in hot water, hold them out strait as they cool then they don’t kink or curl up as much- though do NOT submerge where the cable’s attached to the needles. I avoid heating where they join just in case. Also I love their 000 & 0000 sizes (1.5mm & 1.2mm) for socks. I usually knit two color brioche with those size needles on my socks & they do great. ❤

As long as you tighten the hiya interchangeables with the tool then they don't unscrew.

I only have ChiaoGoo interchangeables (the Mini and Small Twist sets), and I'm super happy with them - but HiyaHiya has fixed circulars in 0.7, 1, and 1.25 mm, and that's the kind of thing I feel I need in my life. They'll complete my collection's size range!

But I do very much *hate* when the cable faffs around. Enough that I might actually never use them. Darn it!

Hiya Hiya is sold in the USA, I have the 5" limited edition sharps, which are very sharp, find them lighter than Chiaogoo (which is my all time go to, because love the joins ) and have the most invested in cords so not adding any more cords for my Hiya Hiya. I agree, they are a bit kinky but being thinner, do not have as much fight with them as I do with knit pro/ knitters pride.

On another general note, sizing of needles, my knitters wish is that everyone would just use MM sizes, not old english sizes, not american sizes, less thinking , anyways my wish :)

I definitely prefer Hiya Hiya sharps tips...they're the best on the market...but ultimately invested in full sets of Chiaogoo because Hiya cables suck so bad. They're hard and stay curled. I do like the swivel joins but the permanent curling of the cables was the deal breaker especially considering Chiaogoo tips are still vary good even if not as sharp. Cables matter more for overall knitting experience especially when the needle quality is fairly equivalent. Thanks for the review good job!

I haven't actually tried Hiya Hiya needles, but I certainly feel inclined to give them a test run myself after your glowing review. I do have a set of the KnitPro lace tips and they are very pointy, so maybe you could review those at some point - I'd love to hear your opinion on those to see if you agree with me, but I don't actually have any experience with other brands of sharp/lace needles. I'm off to sweet-talk my husband into getting me some Hiya Hiya needles for my birthday ;-)

Circs are much better if you have joint issues as knitting isn't as heavy to hold.
