Wow! What a difference. Its gorgeous now. My bannister is absolutely caked in layers of gloss. I hope the wood is as nice under mine when Im finished

I noticed that you didn’t sand the wood under the railing which I think you just painted over the white? Is this ok to do or would it be better to strip paint and sand it first?

Love it! Please can you share how you got your stair stringer to have the fancy trim on it? We have a victorian house too and can't find one that matches yours.

How did you get rid of that dark thick stuff on the bottom? I’m at that stage and it’s a nightmare to scrape. Wondering if I can sand? I’m not going to paint just oil/varnish to keep the original wood

It's ok (But) Peelaway 7 or 1 is far superior if you follow the instructions (expensive) but the best out there

I think you should definitely paint the hand rail, looks odd
