"Whenever it's painful, it's not good". Absolutely love it. In French there's this sentence "tu dois souffrir pour être belle" (=you must suffer to be beautiful) that i have always hated

My favourite part about you is that you don't just say "Top 7 things not to do!!!", but you also provide safer and better alternatives. I see a lot of videos and websites just tell you NOT to do, but never giving tips on what you SHOULD do instead. <3

Physical exfoliating scrub -> Chemical exfoliate once to twice a week.
Vibrating cleansing brush -> regular cleanser 30 seconds to 1 minute.
Micellar water/face wipes -> regular cleanser
Pore stripes -> retinol or salicylic acid
Peel off masks -> chemical exfoliant or toner or vitamin a or retinol
Face messaging tools -> surgical face lift
Body exfoliating gloves -> salicylic acid cream

I used St. Ives exfoliating wash in the early 2000's until I got one of pieces of exfoliate stuck in my eye. That was the most painful and expensive lesson that I've learned.

When I was a teenager, I was wild about pore strips but my mom insisted that they would be harmful. And now I thank her alot for being strict on me

As someone in my 40's and who has worked with plastic surgeons for most of my career, I think there's something important to remember.
What works for one person doesn't necessarily jive with the next.
Personally, a blend of acid and physical exfoliation keeps my face and body skin bright, clear and happy.
My skin is oil rich, and likes to stick around. 🤷‍♀️
Retinol turns my skin to pure fire in any strength.
The next person might need something quite different.
Derms tend to be fairly adamant, almost militant in their recommendations.
You know your skin.
Be gentle, use high quality tested products from trusted sources.. and TRY THINGS.
Above all, good skin starts from the inside out.
Drink your water..cut the processed crap food and add more fresh produce..sleep..move your body..wash your face at night..cut out the booze and salt if you can.
You'll be amazed at what happens to your skin.

I always got ingrown hair after bikini wax and I was following the esthetician's advice to use physical exfoliation. I was fed up and deciding to try chemical exfoliation (glycolic acid 7%) and it was a game changer! never ever had problem since.

I love how you not only addressed the issues but also gave back-up solutions, I didn't know most of this information so thanks so much for the heads up!

Knowing that I don't use any of these products/methods in my skin care routine is such a relief. I also don't recommend the physical scrubs because it can also cause breakouts and irritations.

“Whenever it’s painful it’s not good. “ Too much of anything stinks. Best spa care I ever received was at the Korean spa where the ladies scrubbed my body with an exfoliating cloth. Wow. That was great. I made friends with steam also. My face I treat like a baby. And Vaseline is still wonderful to hold moisture after you wash your face at night. Wash it off in the morning and apply your moisturizer. Rose hip oil is nice in winter and Aloe vera great in summer. Find what works, try new organic things. Best to nurture from within with plenty water, fruit and veggies and fatty acids. Drink tea! I’m lazy but I like the jade Gua thing, too. Feels good. One last thing: keep lots of clean white washcloths for gentle scrub to the face and neck in the shower to remove all grime. You can see it! Sounds like much but develop your routine and listen to your skin. Haven’t had a pimple or a dry patch for donkeys years. 👏🏾

I wash my face at night but I've used face cleansing wipes in the morning for a while now and notice my face is clearer and all redness has gone. Also, I use exfoliating gloves (gently) on my body and my skin has never glowed and been so soft before. I think the one piece of advice you can give to everyone is to be gentle with their skin. 🙂

I have oily skin and I avoid as much as possible following influencers who encourage the consumption of cosmetic products. They make you spend money on unnecessary items for a skincare routine.

I've been using everything you've mention in this video and I'm horrified. I couldn't figure out why I kept breaking out and why my skin is starting to scar now 😖 thank you very much for saving my skin. I will definitely change my skin care routine.

I remember a customer came in to my store (I was a beauty advisor) she bought the green scrub sponges ( the ones that are used on pots and pans)for using on her face. She didn’t have any lines on her forehead but it looked like You could actually see her skull through very thin skin. I wonder what that looks like now because it has been almost 5 years.

This was genuinely very helpful and not clickbait. Thank you so much for sharing this information with us and helping counter misinformation out there!

I'm an aesthetician myself and I love this advice. Never used pore strips, micellar wipes or yucky charcoal masks I advocate using a cosmeceutical range using Glycolic or salicylic acids products and maybe a retinol Serum at night time.
