Совет народного психолога: когда за окном дождь, когда настроение ни к черту, когда достали все и всё - наденьте наушники и включите 23 концерт в исполнении Горовица. Через 23 минуты вы будете счастливы.

I have always maintained that Horowitz was a fine classicist. His Mozart and more especially Haydn was always perfectly tasteful and proportioned with never a dry moment. I really love his K.488.

I have been listening to Horowitz's recording for months, and not yet found a suitable replacement. His tempo is just right for me too.

It's amazing how someone who was such a wild and energetic pianist in his youth (and yet somehow wasn't into Beethoven) would become the perfect performer of Mozart at old age.
Old Horowitz is my absolute favorite.

mi fa compagnia ogni giorno perchè è nella suoneria del telefonino! Proprio questa versione con Giulini e l'orchestra della Scala!! Meraviglia !!!!

Horowitz didn’t respond to Beethoven, spiritually or emotionally, and consequently played him self-consciously. But even more than with Haydn and Clementi, Horowitz late in life basked in the joy of Mozart. And unlike so many more celebrated Mozartians, in this music he was not the least bit “conscientious”. Luckily, DG captured his opalescent sound. And although the choice of his father-in-law’s countryman reportedly led to discomfort on both sides, I hear none of that. Giulini seems more free-spirited than on many records from this period . The miracle is that after disasters caused by medication and a lifetime of self-doubt, Horowitz at the end rose to new heights. Thank you.

Beethovens music is him talking to God. Mozarts music is God talking to him

Chacune des notes de musique est un langage. Pas forcément pour parler à Dieu, pour nous parler à nous pauvres humains qui avons parfois besoin d'un soutien, et ici Horowitz est le meilleur avec Glenn Gould ( pour moi) !!! ❤❤❤

I believe this was his last studio recording.

The charm of the first movement is clearly lessened by an excessively fast tempo which I doubt Giulini felt comfortable with, and which Horowitz no doubt encouraged. This COULD have been a musically satisfying performance, but unfortunately the overall effect here is unconvincing.
