Dear Vanderbilt,

After the January 31st town hall meeting on the new "nondiscrimination" policy at Vanderbilt University, students are still left with many questions.

As Vanderbilt students, we appreciate the attention brought to this issue.

We went into the town hall with many questions; however, we left with even more.

Why is the Administration refusing to allow religious groups to choose leaders based on their faith?

Is the administration's top priority the best interest of Vanderbilt students -- or political correctness?

How are Christian organizations supposed to fulfill their purpose if their mission is to train Christian leaders?

This will not just affect Christian groups, but will hinder the goals of all religious organizations.

Why are we compared to the segregationists of the 60s just because we do not agree with the new policy?

Why did the administration change this from a nondiscrimination policy to an "all-comers" policy for the first time Tuesday night

Citing CLS v. Martinez numerous times, but failing to mention that the SCOTUS said it must apply to all groups, with no exemption?

Which would include fraternities, sororities, honor societies, and sport teams.

If this is indeed an "all-comers" policy, what will happen to fraternities and sororities?

Why did the administration belittle the number of supporters present when the majority of them were turned away?

How can religious organizations agree to a policy when the administration will not fully explain its implications?

Why is the administration asking us to take a leap of faith, when they are actually asking us to deny our faith?

Stand tall Christians. This video is spreading like wildfire. Vandy will hear from many now. Good job.

I hate how everyone (including the senator) paints this as if it were just affecting religious groups. It affects every group on campus and is an absurd, horrifying, and painfully naive rule that seems to be attempting to remove some very basic rights from student organizations. ALL OF THEM, not just the religious ones.

This is what the first amendment says. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;

It does seem like that this is directly going against this clause in the 1st amendment. You can be in a Christian group without being a Christian.

I love Vanderbilt, but their leaders made a crucial, politically correct, driven mistake. We can all see who they are targeting with this policy.

@pattybbb1 2, 000 views in over a day is hardly "wildfire."

By net standards, this is a match burning.

Don't like the university just leave it and go to a university that allows you to choose your Christian leaders instead of forcing every university to bow to your ways of life.
