After playing the game with the new DLC myself, here are some tips:

1) The seals are mainly useful for tallow. The ethanol is pretty much a byproduct since you can get it by refining wood.
2) Pemmican is pretty amazing - ranching seals and bammoths can easily net you millions of calories that will never spoil.
3) It is worth going to the surface and setting up some natural nectar capturing there since over time meteors will crash there and give you more of the planet trees until you have a whole surface covered in them producing you a lot of nectar for free, just need to tap it!
4) Nectar is a really great coolant, much greater range than polluted water at a tiny hit to specific heat capacity. Really useful for cooling down your frosty asteroid to -50C

Spigot Seal ranch: there's a new lightsource (I'm guessing specifically for the Bonbon Trees). My ranch was built in much of the same way, but using the new lamps. Much more effective for nectar production.

You should make pemmican, its +2 quality and it doesnt go bad so you dont need to worry about storing it in cold places/fridges.

I am still trying to find a way to create snow. Is there no way to do it?

since there is no way to actually make Snow - at least I am not aware of one - does this mean the bon bon trees will be a finite thing once the snow runs out? Or is the snow only needed during the growth phase, so if you don't harvest them for wood you don't need a constant supply of Snow.
