The Blasted Ceres Series! Part 31: Their Fate Is Sealed (ONI: Spaced Out!)

This VOD is the 31st part of my Blasted Ceres playthrough on the new Frosty Planet Pack DLC for Oxygen Not Included, where the main planet is split into two halves with Space in the middle! In this episode, we start playing around with Spigot Seal ranching ideas. These little fellas are very cute and drink the Nectar from Bonbon Trees and turn into into Ethanol at a 100% efficiency rate, as well as dropping Tallow when they expire, which can be used for cooking or melted into Crude Oil. We set up the trees so that they can bask in the natural sunlight of Ceres... which turns into to be very dim. We may need to set up Mercury Ceiling Lights to have any chance of actually filling a ranch... Also, it turns out our cooling loop is slightly too hot for the trees, so we'll need to drain and refill it with Nectar (possibly produced by more trees) to get everything working properly. I think we may end up using all of this Ethanol for the Plume Squashes as it's nice and cold compared to the output from the Ethanol Distillers. Perhaps this would be the actual purpose of setting these guys up in the early game... We'll play around with them a little more and then wrap up the run by building the Rust Melter / Petroleum Boiler. Cycles 691-707 are in this video.

This DLC adds a new starting asteroid type to both Classic and Spaced Out styles with a range of new very cold biomes with new plants, critters, and materials to explore and exploit. We are fairly close to wrapping up this run as the new update will bring a Ceres Moonlet cluster that I want to investigate as well as some major changes to power management that I want to investigate. We will get the Spigot Seals and Rust Melting sorted and then prepare to investigate further.
