Is genetically modified rice grown in India? | Explained

A French manufacturer of rice flour claimed it had found unauthorised #geneticallymodifiedrice in a consignment of 500 tonnes of broken rice imported from #India this June. The European Union does not permit any use of GM rice and the IIndian authorities are investigating the allegations.

In short run GMO may give higher yield but in long run it destroys the soil and makes it completely dependent on chemical fertilizers and in turn farmers dependent on Agri corporations

India had 2, 00, 000 varieties of native rice seeds before green revolution..but now they are extinct.. In that 2 lakh varieties we had drought resistant, saline resistant seeds etc.. India doesnt need lab research for these seeds rather switch to traditional farming practices against industrialised farming

Farmers should produce their own seeds and fertilizers. Its easy and free. Technology has only created problem to farmers and putting them in debt

Prime minister Narendra modi should change the language hindi to English. He should speak every announcement like at the republic day, Independence day 15 of august and the ("voice of heart" his Chanel ) he should make every statement in English language.
