This is sorta misleading, iPhone has this feature built in (you can use it in the Notes app), so WhatsApp is just using that. Android also has a built in scanner in camera/Google Drive (launch the app, then tap the camera button on the top of the plus button on the bottom right).

This is a built in feature of iPhones through the notes app. Guess they merged the option with WhatsApp and optimised it.

Android doesn’t have this feature as the ability to scan documents isn’t pre installed on Androids.
