Keep in mind that "dont forget to set DPI to 300" means very little unless you have a canvas with physical dimensions. For example if you want to print an A4 then your canvas is 210x297mm, set the DPI to 300 and your end canvas will end up having a resolution of 2480x3508px. Depending on your ipad specs this will determine the number of layers. On my shitty base ipad this gives me 19 layers. Decreasing the resolution after this until you get 40-45 layers will diminish the quality if you print A4 (as now, your DPI is not sufficient) but it may be fine on something like an A5 print
