Making Music with a Rubik's Cube Robot w/ Stanley Chapel

The Tok Tok cube is the successor to the Ex-Mars cube, a robotic 3x3 with a unique characteristic: each side plays a distinct note when you make a turn, meaning that this puzzle can be used as a musical instrument (in theory). Stanley and Phil are both classically trained musicians, so when Stanley was visiting us recently, we thought it would be fun to flex our composition muscles and write some music with the Tok Tok cube!

...this is probably the nerdiest video we've ever made.

Special thanks to Stanley Chapel for being in this video!
Stanley's channel @StanleyChapel

The TocToc cube is not available on The Cubicle yet, but you can still purchase the original Ex-Mars cube which has the same musical functionality:

This must be how non-cubers feel when they hear cubers talking.

Stanley and Phil have perfect pitch?! (or they're just practiced for 40 hours a day)

Phil and Stanley both pulling out the perfect pitch a minute in is an insane flex

"What are we naming this piece?"
Phil: FLDSMDFR

they should have totally made R and R' play different notes, and so on... that way there would be twelve notes, exactly the same number as there are in like every single piece of music
