How Much Did Tesla Battery Drain When Left Unplugged for 32 Days?

I went on a yearly overseas trip to Taiwan for a month between November and December of 2021. Since I don't have a home charger, I left my Tesla Model 3 completely unplugged for 32 days. How much did the battery drain? In this video I also share tips on how to minimize battery drain when you have to leave your Tesla unplugged while away.

You’re nice video give me confidence that our 2023 model Y would do fine on a two week trip to Portugal. I’m surprised how well it actually did. We charged up to 82% before we left, and when we returned 15 days later, the charge was 80%; a loss of only 0.13% per day. The car was unplugged, sentry mode was off, and so was preconditioning. I did check on the car using the app about five times during that two weeks. The temperature in the car and the garage during the whole trip was about 65°F on average.

Thanks for sharing this useful video, I am leaving my tesla model 2023 for 2 weeks and I'll update the result here.

Here is the update: Leaving my car on April 6, my battery %96 Coming back on April 22 and checking my battery on April 23, %93
I turned off Sentry Mode and cabin overheat protection, and I use a car cover to make sure it is not going to be too hot/cold (I live in Virginia and the weather is unpredicted)

That’s awesome and brave of you at the same time .. not sure if I could leave that long without sentry mode on .. being that alot of people are targeting teslas these days even to the point of stealing Tesla tires now .. glad your Tesla and trip turned out ok:)

I too will say that is awesome. Also nice to know to turn off the Sentry mode if vehicle is to sit for a long while.

Hey didn't know about the dual citizenship👍 I left my Model 3 unplugged for 6 days and only lost 3 miles of range. The best thing I've learned is don't have Sentry Mode on unless you NEED it

Sounds about right. I have the same model and year, long range RWD. I left mine alone for about the same amount of time when the pandemic first hit and it drained about the same amount. Never opened the app for anything else other than updates. It does drain faster though when it gets really cold.
