he looked totally different because he used Mugetsu, The Final Getsuga, and after that strike, he lost his soul reaper powers (supposedly.)

that's nothing with ssj oder something other dbz stuff, it was his transformation to getsuga himself - he told it in the anime. it was getsugas "mugetsu" form, or if you would handle in this way, it was his form of his final getsuga tenshou
