Which of these are better at improving asymmetry? #personaltrainer #mobilitytraining

I used to think that doing symmetrical exercises on an asymmetrical body would keep me “locked in my pattern.”
Now I think about it a bit differently…
Alternating or single limb exercises make it easier to isolate each side. They improve access to motion and allow you to practice shifting from one side to the other.
Symmetrical exercises expose asymmetries more because they are inherently more constrained.
Symmetrical activities are easier to learn and overload.
Asymmetries = a strategy by the body to meet the demands of a task/stress.
A recipe to make asymmetries worse is:
1. Increase non physical stress
2. Decrease physical stress
Because of this, the high cognitive demand and reduced stability of an alternating/unilateral exercise may be a bad trade in many/some cases.
In reality, we should use a mix of both. The amount differs depending on the individual and the goals of their program.
