Everything You Need To Know about Throne and Liberty

Throne and Liberty gave us a lot of information in December about the upcoming new MMORPG from NCSOFT. But we also recently got some information on how the game might be monetized. Is Throne and Liberty going to be P2W? That may depend on whether or not you consider a Battle Pass pay to win or not.

Beyond that we learned a lot about how PVP will work in Throne and Liberty, about their PvE Dungeons, their weather system and how it hopes to make the world feel immersive and how the MMO plans to court players from all over the globe.

It still remains to be seen what Throne and Liberty will do to the MMORPG landscape in 2023 but it's promising to be one of if not the biggest new MMO in 2023.

So, should you be excited for Throne and Liberty in 2023? I'd say yes, but with caution. NCSoft is a company with a track record and it's always concerning in 2023 when a company won't come out and firmly deny any p2w elements and instead uses terms like "the appearance of" and that they will do their best.

This game has a lot of features and an overall style I've been wanting from an MMO. Gives me Dragon's Dogma vibes.
I personally really like the looks of the flying mechanic, think it will make exploring dungeons and etc really cool. Also love MMOs with no classes and am a huge fan of weapon swapping when it's done right (not ESO with it's spammy no CD abilities, New World did decent though). The fact that it is going for more dynamic openworld events and PvP is def a plus as well.

Really excited about this. Used to be obsessed with Lineage 2. Although the weapon swapping system does worry me. Never been a fan of weapon swapping in MMOs and having no defined class. And of course the monetization.

That dungeon certainly looked interesting. But if I can turn into a crow and fly through it safely out of reach of the mobs, it loses a lot of its challenge. Maybe they will have magical barriers to flying. Or maybe flying mobs that break your transformation? As for monetization, I would be willing to pay for a $20/month battle pass every now and then. I play Star Trek Fleet Command so I'm pretty used to buying battle passes. But it's never *required* which means some players are subsidizing the game for others. That seems "fair" I suppose.

I prefer classes in the games I play, the holy trinity and hybrids. Heavily in to Diablo Immortal at this time (low spender), but maybe I’ll give Throne a go?

I think it means you can change your weapon for a whole new skill line, like New World or Elder Scrolls Online

I don’t care about weapon swapping because games do both but I don’t like switching your class on the fly. That’s a little class switching on the fly.

Looks don’t make game but is very important, mmos live and dye by individual mechanics. Jobs, housing, sailing, farming, taming, cart trading and delivery systems

This mmo will be amazing and I will easily put a few hundred hours in.
I have 170 hours in Black desert and my main isnt end lvl, I will never understand the need to be max lvl asap!!!
