I Built The World's First LEVITATING Aquarium!

In this video I create a levitating aquarium with real animals.
Through the use of magnetic levitation I make a Sea-Monkey tank that can float. I show the growth of the brine shrimp after one month and use a microscope to show how they look fully grown.

I love that footage of the new born baby next to the full grown female. It really illustrates how much those little critters grow.

I was curious to see if the magnetic pull would affect their viability. Didn’t seem to.

A fun quirky little experiment, John. A perfect gimmick in true Sea-Monkey fashion. Love it.

I love the idea of using sea monkeys for tiny aesthetic tanks like this. Too many people on social media will add betas or goldfish to tiny setups like this when they really need a lot more space. Sea monkeys are perfect.

I like how you’re trying your hardest to keep your sea monkeys happy and healthy

I agree with retiring the levitating aquarium. If you consider an interesting project like this in the future that requires constant power, consider getting an UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). I was really excited to see the solutions you came up with for air and heat. :D

What a great idea this was, John! Other than worrying about the power cutting out, you managed to overcome every problem :)

I named my sea monkeys Adam and Eve like you said, and it worked!, I now have a full colony!

I was so happy to see you transferred them into a regular tank. I would have been a bundle of nerves the whole time they were in that levitating tank because power cuts here are common.

This is a super interesting art take on aquariums! Id love to see more strange artsy ideas

i adore how you came up with solutions to help out the tank while still keeping it very “aesthetic” and literally levitating, and i cant not mention how smart the substrate you used was 🖖🏻🌻✨

It's a very good idea it let you every side of the Aquarium without moving a muscle. It's also a good display.😀

Pretty neat experiment! I do agree that keeping it long term might be a little much because of its precarious energy requirements, but it does look pretty cool! The use of the magnetic sand was also a neat solution!

I love this video! Unfortunitly my sea monkeys are dying. I recently got some new packets of sea monkeys and i hope I can add some new babies to keep the colony alive

Mr cosmos, thank you. I stumbled across your channel a month ago, and you have inspired my love for these little shrimp. I got a tank, airline, and heater. The are doing so well, and it's all because of you. Thanks so much, love your channel ❤

I was ready to pop in the comments to add a suspended airline but as always you thought of everything. Great idea I loved the video. An option for protecting them from a power outage can be a mini UPS. Should be able to protect them for a while on a backup battery. If you're going on holidays though I'd just leave them on sturdy ground in case there's a prolonged power outage.

I got the weight question correct. The magnetic force that's holding the vase up exerts the downward force equivilent to the weight of the levitating object on the base just the same as if it was resting there normally.

There's a reason some eggs "sneak" into the first satchet - it's all eggs, despite what the label says. The second packet isn't eggs at all, but colourant to make them more visible. That's why you wait 24 hours, so they CAN hatch.
