'Long standing, historical ties'? Obviously, you are not aware that in 1962-4, the Maldives expelled an Indian community of about 400 men of mainly Gujarati origin, who had monopolised the Maldives export, import and retail trade since the mid-19th century? From where I'm sitting, that doesn't come across as long-standing, historical ties. If they were 'ties', those ties certainly were not cordial. The Maldivians referred to that community as 'Bumbaa Meehun' (Bombay People), as they had originated in the Cutch-Mandvi Porbandar region in the British Presidency of Bombay. WION, it would be worth your while to do some basic research before you expose your meaningless blurts and grunts in video footage that you upload online.
