Join us for this action-oriented session on how to publish your first book in the humanities. This will be a roundtable discussion designed for post docs and junior faculty in the humanities and will feature editors from university presses and scholars, who will share their publishing experience.

There are 44 days between the last day of the fall semester 2014 and the first day of the spring semester in January 2015. Use these 44 days to make good progress on your book or article.

The discussion will be structured around big questions:

Can I double submit?
How far does my manuscript have to be done to submit?
Should I publish an article now or wait for the entire book to be finished?
When is the best time to write?
How do I find a good and supportive writing group?
How long is too long?
Is e-publishing acceptable?
Will an e-book count for tenure?
