Is SnowRunner Coming To Life?

Instead of NPCs I would love to see the world change more as you complete tasks. For example, when you take the water to "put out the fires", nothing changes - The buildings are still smouldering and the audio track of the fires burning is still there. Some of the tasks you complete slowly build up a warehouse or goldmine which is cool, as it makes you feel as though you've acomplished something, but a lot of tasks have no outcome or changes to the map. I think it's even in the first map you play, Michigan, where you are tasked with finding the water pumps. I was expecting the water level to go down and the map become easier to navigate once you found them, but literally nothing happened. Just kind of made me feel "what's the point in helping these communities if nothing changes?"

Being a truck driver in real life, no traffic is what I love about this game. Just pure trucking no idiots getting in your way.

I'd like to see a train go by from time to time.

Uninteractable NPCs hanging around in unreachable areas like in the Forza Horizon games is what SnowRunner needs. Also perhaps NPC workers in the building cutscenes. And definitely more of those cutscenes in general.

That has been my biggest complaint about snowrunner from the start. Put some people in the game. People sitting on the porch, workers working, children playing, someone coming out when you make a delivery etc. It would make the game 10 times better.
Now we are just driving around in a Dead world delivering stuff to ghosts. Pretty depressing.

One tiny thing that could be added is when completing a task like a delivery to a house that there's just a quick cutscene of the driver and some NPC shaking hands or signing off a paper. just a tiny thing like that.

I agree there should definitely be at the very least construction workers that wait for their cargo to be delivered. They can even be 'ghosts' that you can drive through so that they aren't obstacles. It would bring a lot of life and immersion into the game.

Playing in Maine I got the idea of a "Tides" based map where the water level would rise and fall in certain areas depending on the hours.

That NPC sitting there sipping coffee does disappear after a while and is replaced with an empty cup and a newspaper that has a headline that reads, " Coffee gone, Bus on, He made it ".

Wildlife absolutely. We already have birds that improve the atmosphere a lot. But I love the isolated feeling of certain regions. If there were people in villages etc ok. But there should be desolate maps without civilisation too!

We can have running trains, ships, planes. We can have people in protected areas that cannot be run over. Those protected areas will mostly be the various buildings and structures in the game. We can have static trucks, stuck, resting, broken down, sleeping.

What I observed about this game is that objects in the way like rocks in the middle of the road, trees or utility poles in the corners, and even stumps in the fields... they're not there for aesthetics only. They really served a purpose. You hit a tree your vehicle gets damaged, you run over a stump your vehicle is stuck. So, if you put life into this game, like people and traffic, and your driving is poor you're going to hit people and cars. And since trees, utility poles and stumps affects your driving the same thing should be applied also to people and traffic. So, best thing to do if a truck is about to hit a person that person should avoid the truck automatically. Same thing with colliding with civilian cars.

In some places I see a ghost fox with shining eyes, staring motionless from a distance. When I get a little closer, that texture just disappears 😱

I think making the inhabited houses look more inhabited than just ligthts on at night would do a lot, like a collection of NPCs doing stuff around their houses. It would also make abandoned places feel more real when nobody is around.

Would be nice to see life like npc getting stuck and then a task pop up to help then

It's better if you have npc sitting with you while driving and NPC animation for loading cargo

The objective of the game is to help restore regions that have been hit by natural disasters, so i can only assume that animals have fled and humans have been evacuated. So there can be no traffic. Besides, most of the roads are gone.
The only extra life i'd like to see is a few human NPCs who give you some tasks, garage, factory, warehouse personel doing stuff and maybe rescue boats going up and down rivers.
If you want to play with more traffic then play the game the way it was intended. With friends. Lots of friends.

If they add ghosts of other players I would be tipping over at any smooth flat road I could find just to confuse people.
