I don’t care that you know Python…
if you don’t understand how your organization turns a profit.

Knowing SQL isn’t impressive…
if you cannot build cross departmental rapport.

Your Tableau pro skills matter little…
if you don’t know what your stakeholders actually care about.

Tools are great, they can be fun, but ultimately they are a means to an end.

Focus less on the tool and more on how you, the Analyst, can create outcomes that matter to your stakeholders.

Go analyze stuff.

1000% I learned policy first, then learned the tools to help me communicate to the policy to my stakeholders

Such a mean and rude post. Hiring Managers want the new candidate to perform like Alan Turing or Einstein on very first day. It doesn't happen in reality. They need to give some space to new joinee rather to disrespect them. Ofcourse, profit making is the goal but reaching to target always requires team effort.

I see. Though many programs do not focus on data handling (i.e. what the code is doing and why you'd need it).
