I owned a 2011 A4 B8. Although it was my daily driver, I babied the car with all on time maintenance and all oem audi parts. Even with that, the rear mirror felt, the radiator failed, the alternator failed, the transmission failed (again this was an A4, not a S4) and finally the engine locked itself (NOT for lack of oil, mechanic said they dont even know/have an idea what was the cause). I decided to have the engine rebuild which took 1 month to an Audi "expert". On the next 3 months after the engine was rebuilt, it was 6 times back on the shop for different issues. Finally at the 5th month I was able to enjoy a "new" fresh engine and let me tell you, it was awesome with no problems. It really felt like a brand new car for another 4 months. So at the 9th month of the engine being rebuilt I decided to upgrade to stage 2 and tune the ecu with IE. 2 months went by and the oem turbo gave up. I bought a used turbo (same iki k03 oem) since that repair the engine was sucking oil as if it was gasoline

Thus... I learned my lesson and I will pass it to you... if you just want to be an "Audi owner" go A4, BUT MAKE SURE IS A B8.5... by the way, dont waste your money trying to get power out of the A4's 2.0T. Instead, if you have some money and you still want a fun german car with a 2.0 turbo, just buy a new Golf R or go straight with a S4 B8.5 (now I own an 2015 A6 with the 3.0 supercharged, and I cant be more happier, but Im saving money to pay for the transmission whenever it fail)

If you have a large pocket, go TTRS or RS3 with the 2.5 turbo, you will have a lot of fun!!

And well, if you have deep pockets, please stay away from small cars (leave those to broke peps like me) and go RS7, C55 AMG, M5 comp CS, Shelby 500, etc, etc...

I have a 2012 a4 2.0t Quattro and I’ve loved it so far besides a couple issues. I’ve had to replace the transmission and injectors which was the biggest issues but other than that just maintenance. I just got it back after replacing brakes, rotors, oil change, timing chain gasket, valve cover gasket, plugs, and coil packs. The mechanic put Liqui Moly oil in it and said he did the same with his and oil consumption is way down!

Do you still have to use a couple of 1qt oil before you do any oil change for 3k miles? Or does it last until 3k miles?

A lot of oil consumption is 1 qt per tank. Toyota camry 2002 2.4cyl

Have you had any transmission problems? Is it S-tronic like in Europe? And those engines are known for streched timing chains at about 200k km so have you done anything for that? Looking to buy one in a few months.
