There is a reason Gerry Lopez moved to Bend so he can board Bachelor mountain instead of the rockies. The volcanic geology formed what he calls frozen waves perfect for this style of riding. Some people even use pow boards without bindings now.

As someone who owns a powder board I can say yes I surf it all the time. Had some insane runs where I gather so much speed I do full turns up the mountain and hit some nice lay backs in the powder. Feels even better than any wave I've ever ridden
