Can You Daily Drive A Miata??

1. Soft top leaks (100% will happen)
2. Trunk leaks (very possible)
3. Starter may die if you stall the car too much (maybe)
4. Rust on ecu cover plate in the 1.6, rocker panels, and underneath the car (very possible)
5. Driver side rear brake caliper leaks fluid (maybe)
6. Passenger side rear brake caliper seized up (maybe)
7. Leaking oil due to bad cam seals, crank seals, etc. (very possible)
8. Leaking coolant in the early 1.6 due to the cursed water plug (100% will happen)
9. The car will never smell good because of all the rust (metal inside the dash), the soft top, and dust on the floorpan underneath the carpet (100%)
10. The 1.6s don't have ABS or traction control so it's very easy to slide in the rain (100%)
11. It's very loud with the soft top (100%)
12. Slave clutch cylinder will go bad (very possible)
13. Over heat due to bad water pump (possible)
14. The 1.6's crankshaft key goes bad causing engine failure (very possible)
15. Soft top won't close if it's too cold (100%)
16. Idling issues (possible)
17. Main fuse might go bad (possible)
18. The door panels are made out of cardboard and break easily if you don't remove them correctly (100%)
19. The 1.6 needs more maintenance (cursed water plug, crankshaft key, expensive shifter rebuild)
20. You'll find the marvelous work the previous engineers left behind (very possible)
21. Very low horsepower so say goodbye to speeding up to pass a red light or other cars (100%)
22. No one can see you so always drive with the mindset that people will try to run you off the road (100%)
23. The hard top makes the car look a lot better but they're no longer manufactured and used tops cost around $2, 000
24. It's been passed around more than your mom (probably) so it's pretty neglected

I experienced 20/24 of those common issues on my 90, 000 miles 1990 miata. Unless it's garage kept and well maintained, you'll likely experience most of those issues, some of them come out of nowhere. Make sure you fix all of those problems if you want a reliable miata. And don't brake hard while turning, being light weight it will slide unless that's what you want

Just got my own miata about 2 weeks ago and so far it’s a great car for me as a 18 year old, as of right now it being summer it does feel like a oven inside and it takes some time for the AC to get it a bit cold, it is super loud so I agree with you on that lol but other than that it’s a fun car and if anyones looking for a fun car to mess around with and have fun with your friends then I definitely would say get yourself a miata! But I would say is to make sure you have another good car to drive long distances to lol

35 to 40 mpg is good fuel economy. My Mx5 does 28 mpg and i think it's no good. Specially 98 octane. Very expensive...

drove it for 5 years daily. Its a great car but also wildly impractical. very fun to zoom around in but not great if you have a lot of friends, or if you ride bikes or something like that

Good video. 30 mpg is great, they're saying now that gas will be an average of over $6 a gallon by August. 😞 So having that car as your daily driver will save you a lot of money. Who's your videographer? You should introduce him or her to give the credit they're do. 😀 JoAnn
