This was the best advert for the M140i yet.

Less than the old, slower than the old, less than the old, less than the old... weighs more than the old...
Costs 10k more than the old. Classic BMW!

Clearly they didn't fix it... It's still 5 doors and automatic... It went from being BMW, different from its rivals, to being one more... Audi does the same and Mercedes also .... It is more tempting to buy older models of the 1 series... And about the design, if they wanted it to look like a Focus or a Kia Rio, great, they succeeded...

Mercedes must have planted a double agent within BMW's design team, because they've been churning out one ugly care after another for a few years now.

I got my first M140i last month and if I wasn't happy already, I'm even happier now.

Proud old M135i owner, still drives like it was new.

The smaller B58 powered cars do punch well above their weight, I really wish BMW had spun a 1 series hatch off the current X Drive M240i. That would have been elite.

That`s why I bought one of the last Hyundai i30N. Real, crazy exhaust, 8 speed DCT and extremely good and fun suspension, a lot cheaper and a lot better quality & warranty.

I'll stick with my 2001 e46 na six cylinder cant beat the feel and sound of them. Cars these days have lost their soul I think.

BMW was like lets give it 4 exhausts but the sound should come from the speakers

Well if you want something new with the BMW B58 engine there is the M240i Xdrive? No?

It looks so dull. It could be any mainstream hatchback with a BMW grille stuck on the front?

Put the b58 in it and people would love it.

Oh Rory, that is 2nd gen 1 series. You should be comparing against a 130i. Naturally aspirated, manual, rear wheel drive, n52 engine (the best ever performance 1 series )

What have BMW done with the 1 series.
Unfortunately it looks like a Ford Focus not only from the front side and rear.
Some will say that's a good thing.
Either way it'll sell it's a BMW

The F20/F21 could never be replaced by this KIA Ceed. In the current hot hatch market there are only serious options; Hyundai i30 N, Honda Civic Type-R and the Audi RS3.

rock solid reliable and tunable engine, 300+hp, lightweight, 50/50 weight distribution, RWD, manual gearbox and was just 32k when it was new. It was from a time, when BMW still cared about driving, and not spreadsheets
