It worked! Thank you! The WiFi disappeared on my M8 and Bluetooth was on but nonfunctional. This reset worked to restore Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Only price to pay was a deletion of all my personal settings.

Omg...thanks so much for this! I had been told before that to reboot the system I needed to push and hold the volume button but it never worked! It wasn't until this video that I then tried it for at least 30 seconds and voila! My main issue was that for some reason periodically the wifi and Bluetooth in the car would out of nowhere just stop working indefinitely and it wouldn't be able to pair with my phone which was infuriating, and the only way I had figured out how to fix it was to totally reset the car's data and system and it would work, but that was so tedious as I needed to reapply all my car settings again and reconnect my car to my ConnectedDrive account and the whole thing..this had happened at least a half dozen times before, but now knowing this fix it saves me so much time and hassle 😁

My X3 suddenly developed this fault and after reading a lot of articles, I rebooted the software but it only solved the problem for a short time. I read that BMW had recommended replacing the radio etc but there were too many people reporting the fault for it to be hardware.
A few nights ago, I suddenly realised that the signal had only appeared after I started wearing Bluetooth hearing aids. I switched them off and bingo, the problem has gone. Obviously, I don’t expect everyone to be wearing hearing aids but it is significant that a Bluetooth signal was sufficient to cause the issue. Maybe it’s worth just switching off your Bluetooth devices in the car and see what happens. Good luck
