Ok so my friend has a 330zhp auto and I had an E36 m3 manual

We raced on the highway and from a standstill.
Highway, from a second gear through the end of the 4th gear I had 1/2 car length.
Standstill till 60 mph, I had aprox. 1 hood. Performance wise, they are very close cars. I driven both and the M3 (esp. in manual) does give you a better sensation of speed ( zhp was automatic). However I found the zhp's steering was better.

Zhp came out in late 02 models. Call the dealer and they can run your vin and tell u weather its a GM or zhp. I was even prouder to find out my 02 330i E46 loaded w/comfort / sports / premium package. I had a 02 Dodge ram 360 and I must say, I'll always have a BMW because they are truly a all around driving machine.

The winner took the cash and the respect.

It's not tuned down, it's a completely different engine. The U.S. was not really suppose to get an E36 M3 but due to the demand BMW decided to make one for the market. It's actually closer to a 328i engine than the EU spec M3 engine. the US spec is pretty much a bored out 2.8L to 3.2, with a whole bunch of other M parts such as suspension, limited slip diff etc. The engines themselves though are completely different.

to start its an M3 from USA it have just 250 hp in
EU it have 286hp its the 3.0 version and 3.2 have 321 hp if it was a orginal m3 from EU it cant lose from that 330i the 3.2 version smokes even a E46 M3 if they are both stock

You're right, my apologies. It did use an Iron Block with an Aluminum head, got a little bit mixed up. That's pretty much as far as the similarities go between them lol.

@omegahallll exactly ! People don't believe this video because they've never driven a ZHP before.

@KoyanDJ Yes, Euro M3 = 286 PS / Vmax 250 km/h, US M3 = 240 PS / Vmax 220 km/h

first off who takes off on the second beep?...second the description says 1/4 mile...i highly doubt its a 1/4 mile race.

FACT: If this is a 95 ///M3 then the quarter mile would be about the same. According to CarandDriver the ZHP's quarter mile time is 14.4-14.9. The 95 ///M3 does it at 14.6. The 98 US ///M3 runs a 14 flat. And the Euro version crosses the line a little quicker. Eitherways, both the ZHP and the ///M are nice cars, but as for me, i choose the full package: ///M3.

///M POWER.

@blasueltz123 euro M3 3.0L=286hp(1991 to 1995), 295hp to the limited M3 gt(1995) and euro M3 3.2L=321hp(1996 to 1999) américan M3 is just a fat 328i with //M body kit i think

@gingervytis it is an US M3, that one has only 240 250 hp..

@ElitePersonality On a 2km circuit, minor differences in tyre inflations could make a .2 sec difference.

Around a track, the E36 M3 and E46 M3 are only about .2 of a second in the E46's favour. The previous car was a better "all-around". C/D tested the 2 in Spain, and there was only a miniscule difference! E46 owners should feel like suckers. They won't in a drag race though.

Looks like the e36 was waiting on a third honk but since he saw the e46 take flight, hes was like "oh shit wtf" and started late lol

The engine block itself is completely different, the EU spec uses an aluminum block compared to the US spec Iron block, EU spec has individual throttle bodies compared to US spec single throttle body, the engines are so vastly different that it's easier to name what they do have in common compared to what they don't. EU spec e36 M3 engine is more similar to a e46 M3 engine than an e36 US spec.

@piotr9520 because I have 330 Ci E46, this E36 was 328. not M3 3.0 with 286ps, and of course not 3.2 with 321ps.

@IstanbulerHooligan

This one is definately an M3. Its a US SPEC M3.
Kardesim Amerikadaki M3lerde sadece 240 beygir var. Bilmeden konusmayin.

Its an "E46" M3, They didn't putt out all that much power, those are pretty realistic results considering he didn't get as well of a start as the ZHP driver, whom probable does have some work done as well. (ZHP owners are more typical to mod their cars then most)

I don't know where the cars are produced, but the engines are made with different specs for different countries--America has more restrictive emissions laws.
