Unanswered questions in screening for prostate cancer

Ravi Madan, MD, National Cancer Institute, Bethesda, MD, provides an overview of remaining issues relating to prostate cancer screening. Underdiagnosis in patients may result in an increase of metastatic prostate cancer. There is consequently a need for novel biomarkers in addition to PSA screening.
