Remote Alaskan Off Grid Cabin ||FIRST FIRE IN THE SAUNA||

In this video Miranda and I make a very late fall trip to our remote cabin the rivers are on the verge of freezing, our only access this time of year is by boat It was a very cold ride. We installed a wood stove and had our first fire in our Sauna we built with logs from the property. We sat under the stars in our wood fired hot tub. We hauled load after load of fire wood to keep the fires going and finished getting the property ready for winter. This will be the last trip until the rivers freeze

A next year project you can do is make a car port for your 4 wheelers . So if you have to do maint on them you ll be dry.

Your projects are coming along very well. Idk if you already thought of it but may I suggest for your sauna that you make either an aluminum box the size of the stovetop or use a large cooking pot filled with Lava Rocks to pour water w/a long handled cup on top of the rocks. 👍🏻

If that’s spruce you used for the sauna bench seat, you might consider using cotton wood as it is a softer wood and much cooler to sit on.

You can also use your pump to circulate the water to heat up the hot tub faster instead of having to use the paddle.

Always things to do, I hope you have some time to sit and enjoy your hard work. I wonder if you store your motorized equipment/ tools in a shed of some kind while not in use?

Starting to come together up there, man, next project you need an out shed to keep all your stuff in gas cans generator, chainsaws all the essentials
