Three simple Mahi Mahi kayak rigs

Kayak fishing is very different from any other types of fishing. Often we find ourselves improvising rigs in order to make it work as we don't have the speed that trolling boats have. In this video you will see my three go to rigs for catching Mahi from the kayak. You will also see my trolling setup reels which are the SEiGLER OS and LG reels. Lifetime warranty and made in the USA.

Hope these techniques work for you as well.

Great info, hopefully works in Hawaii. Until I figure out how to get my own live bait gonna try these out. Answered a lot of specific questions about what bothers them, what doesn’t. Aloha.

Very interesting Raf. I hope to someday be able to fish for Mahi Mahi. Until then, I enjoy experiencing it through your videos.

Could you please make a quick video for a step by step guide on how you slide the dead squid on to your lure? I understand how the mantle/fins would attach to the lure but the body/eyes/tentacle portion of a squid just seems too small to go around the head of a lure so it sits funny instead of sliding all the way down. I've improvised by cutting the eyes/tentacle portion of the squid off and just use the mantle portion which sits nicely. Either way, thanks for the video.

Hi Raf, what pound test is on your main line? Also are you paddling to troll your kayak or cast and fast retrieve?

Of the reels you mentioned Saltiga vs Ocea jigger vs Seigler? Which one would you choose overall for Guam fishing?
