My problem with LiquidText, MarginNotes, Flexcil and all those tools is the same. They all demand to “own” the PDFs. I have my files in a folder structure and these apps should just read the files from there. I dont want to do endless imports and exports. That will just end in data loss in the long run.
And as a storage neat freak I prefer not having that 100mb PDF textbook being stored in 3 different locations on my iPad.

I can't tell you how much your videos about LiquidText have helped. You're doing an excellent job.

Hi. Thanks for the informative videos. I want to start using LiquidText or MarginNote but I don’t know which would be better for my application. My study projects would be based around a pdf that is released monthly. So I have literally hundreds of pdf’s. Other than the current year, I could combine each past year together. That would make it easier, but I’m not sure if either of these apps would be best for my use case. I would have several different mind maps, but the library would be these sets of files. Any thoughts on the best direction to go?

Thank you. Scanner Pro adds a watermark and I don't want a subscription. Are there any other scanners that produce small files? What about Apple's own scanner in Notes? Thank you

For the "Type to Navigate" function, I added a custom touch gesture with GestureSign on Windows, so I don't have to bring up the sidebar.

Edge color from excerpt doesn't work on Windows, sadly.

I have been using LiquidText for a year, and I recently upgraded my account to the premium version. Although it was nice to use the sync service, I'm seriously considering quitting using this application due to several reasons. First, I think the sync system (the only reason I upgraded to the premium version) doesn't function very well many times. Some files are listed on the lqd project but the contents of the files are gone.(It can be only opened in the original device that you work, but never in other devices) They have "trouble shooting" process to retry the sync, but it takes huge amount of time(in my cases, up to 6-7 hours) to get the devices synced, and the sync service itself consumes so much energy that the device becomes so heated. Second, as many of its users know it very well, the app creates so many bugs especially when you work on big files like textbooks. It is suddenly jammed, even though I'm using the iPad Pro 5th generation with M1 chip. Third, the battery consumption issue is serious. Especially when you use this app with your wi-fi on, the device becomes so heated, which can seriously deteriorate your devices's battery life.

So, seriously, I'm looking for an alternative to the liquid text... It's so disappointing given the high price for the premium version... If you have any alternative to the liquid text, please let me know....

Can one sync across the windows and iOS app? That is, if I do something on the iPad app does it reflect the changes on the windows app?

Inking in Liquidtext is still very limited though. E.g. you cannot resize or copy handwritten notes with the lasso tool

It still crashes when importing files from another app

It looks useful, but then the lack of sync between macOS and iPadOS is a dealbreaker. And I found that the performance on macOS was so bad that it was hard to use the app without interface stutters. The same goes for the iPad on battery it plows through the battery so that I wasn't hardly able to use it on the go.

LiquidText has a big problem with idling at high CPU utilization after a few searches or document switches, until you restart the app. They should really address this issue that has been there since forever, since it's needlessly eating battery life.
Could you please monitor this issue with Task Manager / Activity Monitor when reviewing the PC versions?
Thanks in advance.

How about a decrease in price? That is most exciting. :)

Just learned that they will be demanding a subscription fee for Sync. Very disappointing.

I've been using liquidText Live for about 2 months now, I think the major downside is that you have to upload the same PDF separately to different projects which is so annoying

Personally, for me it is too much-complicated app ))) Yes, ic has cool features for make linkered notes - like short notes from the big book, but I don't know practical situation when this app is needed

This app is still unworkable for me because it is impossible to select text accurately in PDF sources with 2 columns of text. Which is almost all of the medical textbooks and scientific articles I work with. No problems selecting text in the left column (highlighting, excerpting, etc) but things go haywire/buggy when you try this in the right column. Sadly I didn’t realize what an issue this was until I’d purchased the most expensive versions for Mac and iOS. The developer acknowledges this problem and there is no fix forthcoming.
