Good Video. Here is some additional information --  If you down-load a Snellen chart from the Internet.  Please measure the size of the 20/20 character.  It must be 3/8 inch high, or 0.9 cm.  The 20/40 line must be 1.8 cm high.  The intention of this testing is to confirm you can see 1' of angle resolution, or for 20/40, 2' of angle.  To pass most DMV tests, you must read and exceed the 20/40 line.

This was very helpful..thank you. But I was just wondering if you do the pinhole if they have eyesight worse than 3/60. Do you do the pinhole or do you just move them to 1m?

LogMAR ? Can you explain it ? what is the difference between logmar and snellen chart?

Why nobody ever explain the thickness of the lense?? For example if you can only read up till number 5 you need to wear minus 3 lense. The visual acuity videos is always about explaining these numbers.. 20/200, 20/70, 6/24. I'm very dissapointed.

I think the the concept of snellen's equivalent at 3 m distance is a completely flawed assumption as a person starts accommodating at distance less than 6 m irrespective of the size of the snellen's characters, its high time we rectify this concept now, to prove this do subjective acceptance at 6m and 3m with normal snellen's and 3m equivalent snellen's chart respectively for the same person, you will find that the 6m snellen's acceptance is always greater by -0.25D than the 3m snellen equivalent's chart results.

Counting fingers is never acceptable for people who have low vision. You can move the chart closer and continue to test to 20/800.
