Recently hit 80s, started a few months ago at max 20s (I'm a 15y/o girl if that's relevant) it's all about consistency, aiming for a 100 now. Thank you for the motivation pigmie! And yes... You got to

Edit: got to 120s now ✌

Could barely do a minute a year ago, recently smashed 4minutes strict deadhang and 6minutes with shakeoffs. Thanks for the motivation Lucas ❤️

Edit: Just did 10min16secs with shakeoffs today! Very happy 😁 currently holding my gyms record.

With dead hangs it’s not always about how much u train it’s how u push through it mentally

70-80 seconds for me... Started doing dead hangs (about a month ago) by seeing your videos.

Don't forget to really, truly BREATHE. Nice full breaths in through the nose, and out through the mouth. It helped me to sometimes tilt my head forwards for a couple seconds, and then backwards for a few so I didn't completely stiffen up. It really is a mental game as well!

Bro…it’s all about mind over matter…pushing through the pain is one thing, but understanding that you won’t be harmed is another…pushing behind your capabilities.

POV: You've been waiting for the "but you gotta focus"

If you start early, like elementary/middle school early, you can hang for much longer. First time I tried this was when my dad said he’d pay me $20 if I could hang for more than 2 minutes. Lord knows that was the motivation I needed and I crushed that shit. Kept practicing from there and never really lost it.

When I was 20 I could do three sets of 25 pull ups at 172lb . At 65 230lb could only do 2sec dead hang because of a rotator cuff injury. One month later alternate day hanging do one minute rotator cuff injury gone. Will continue to 100 sec. Then start on pull up training.

There is a fun game that we (rock climbers:) play and it helps a lot with developing grip strength. So the rules are: each person is hanging by one hand and they play rock paper scissors with their other hand, the winner gets to swap their hand, the game goes on until one of them falls. It’s so fun!

Man, I’m happy that I’m able to hang for 30 seconds.

Seems like the grip variation boosted your normal grip strength most likely due to working different muscles further developing your strength. Human body as far as humans know are the most strongest thing we can have.

I made the 3 minute mark. 3:02. Took 4 months, starting from just over 100 seconds in February.
