There’s no English analog for the Portuguese word saudade, which translates roughly to a melancholic longing for someone or something from the past. The term so aptly fits Thievery Corporation’s oeuvre (always wistful and dreamy) that it’s a wonder this is the first time the D.C. duo have employed it as an album title. Looking to the sounds of Brazil–bossa nova, samba, tropicalia–for their seventh long-player, longtime musical partners Rob Garza and Eric Hilton deliver a set that evokes shimmering seascapes and poolside cocktails. It’s the kind of album James Bond would put on for a romantic evening in Rio. Released on April 4, 2014, "Saudade" is Thievery Corporation’s 7th studio album through their ESL Music imprint.

Saudade (English: /ˌsaʊˈdɑːdə/, [1] European Portuguese: [sɐwˈðaðɨ], Brazilian Portuguese: [sawˈdadi] or [sawˈdadʒi], Galician: [sawˈðaðɪ]; plural saudades)[2] is a deep emotional state of nostalgic or profound melancholic longing for an absent something or someone that one loves. My favourite piece from this album, I listen to it on repeat when I want to have a lot of feels. Perfectly embodies melancholy and longing and that bittersweet sadness.

I listen to this masterpiece from the very begining and, my feelings are so deep that I miss an old Humanity. The spiritual humanity, the connection between us all and I feel a deep one, the one that makes me know that this actual humanity is going to disappear really soon. I feel so sad because I see the world burning, the humans disconnected, the nature and our Mother Earth crying... What have we done Humans ? What have we done to all the animals ? what have we done to all of this beautiful place... Are you proud to be human ? Are you... ? Because I can't.
