After an exploration into bossa nova on the 2014 “Saudade” release, Thievery Corporation returns to the music of Jamaica for it’s 2017 album, The Temple of I & I. The band’s 10th studio album release was recorded at GeeJam Studios in Port Antonio, Jamaica and was released on February 10, 2017 through the band's ESL Music imprint.

I introduced my 18 year old, very talented (he's had his own band since he was 15!), musician nephew to this album this evening. The reaction was joyful - for both of us. I got to show a youngster I love an respect and who knows more about every kind of music that's ever existed than I ever could (he's about to start his degree in music) - but who gravitates towards hard metal in all its forms for some reason - an album that I love so much because of its perfect - authentic, beautiful - balance of reggae, rap, poetry, and conscience. It's very special.
I was blessed by the genuine joy he felt and expressed in his reaction to the tracks he heard after dinner. And that's my joy right there.
