It wasnt just for fear! It also gave the pilots some feedback because they activated at a certain speed, which told the pilot that they were going fast enough and meant they didnt need to check their airspeed quite as often during a dive.

What's funny is that the Stuka sound is so well known, that many people think that's how a diving aircraft sounds like :D The sound is more well known than the fact it was created with a siren...

Stukas had small propellers on their landing gear to produce the sound

good short but the JU-87’s sirens were created by smaller propellers on the fixed landing gear. Later in WW2 they completely deleted these off of the JU-87’s because pilots would complain constantly about their noise and how it would give their position away. It’s a great scare tactic when you’re fighting other countries that don’t have up-to-date air forces like 70% of Europe in the 30’s and early 40’s.

They must be really loud if you can hear them in space! 🤔🤨

It's actually amazing that Tie Fighters even make noise at all.. considering we mainly see them in the vacuum of space.. 😂

Empire doesn't care about TIE fighter pilots!

The joke being that in the vacuum of space the sound wouldn't travel, but that's okay because Star Wars is awesome!

I was actually more than just Vents. The Jericho siren, which was mounted on the tips of the wings of the ju-87 stuka, was an air activated whistle from the passing air from the propeller . It was a hollow tube with a type of bell inside that was designed to reverberate at high frequencies within an empty chamber.
That's why the whistle got louder as the plane got closer because the further towards the ground the bomber would go the faster it would get increasing its velocity, therefore increasing the sound of the whistle.

There's some planes and jets that can easily mimic the Tie foghter's engine in real life

It literally is not an elephant. They talk about what they did and it was not an elephant, it’s six women screaming slowed down and distorted, and jet bike going through a tunnel

You can’t imagine the tie fighter sounding like anything else? Look up the Mirage 2000.
