I gotta jump in and say a couple things. The recording for Eloy is being done with the Yamaha EAD if I’m not mistaken. He records his videos of covers using the same setup. It’s a mic that connects to his bass drum rim that can be used along with triggers. I think he’s just getting the one mic sound coming off the Yamaha and maybe a GoPro? The Jay stuff looks like pro shot footage and sounds coming from the mixing board? But, even in this setup, Eloy is just on another level. Eloy should have been the guy when Joey left. I’m excited to see what they do with a loaded weapon behind the kit! Stuff’s gonna get flipped in the drumming world . Eloy hasn’t even began to lay the smack down yet!

After comparing the 2. I feel like Eloy does a better job at recreating that inhuman sounding feel that Joey had. I like Jay but never got that feel from him. His entire drum sound is just better too.

Jay's double base was weak, let's be honest. Eloy is true on time. The swivel effect allows your brain to concentrate less on your feet and more on the arms and hands

I think Joey and Jay tended to push the beat a bit, whereas Eloy sits in the pocket like a MF'er.

Okay, since you compared Jay and Joey I just have to say, Jay and Joey do not play the same.. Joeys style and playing IS Slipknot and no one could ever match the creativity he brought to all slipknots sounds tracks he played on in my opinion. Jays style doesn't even compare to Joeys but Jay is still a kick ass drummer in his own right no doubt. Eloy is just a monster behind the kit and to try to compare him to any drummer would be like comparing a Ferrari to like a Toyota corolla lol respect to all of them though.
