Wales' First Minister Vaughan Gething to quit after resignations

Vaughan Gething has announced he is quitting as Welsh first minister after four members of his government resigned in protest over his leadership.

In a statement, Mr Gething said he had "taken the difficult decision to begin the process of stepping down", and will now discuss a timetable for the election of his successor.

Mr Gething lost a vote of no confidence last month following a row over his decision to sack one of his ministers and questions about donations he took while running to be Welsh Labour leader - resulting in Labour's co-operation deal in the Senedd with Plaid Cymru collapsing.

A bunch of third rate politicians, there isn't anyone in the Welsh Assembly that inspires confidence.
He was selected not on ability but on ethnicity, if it was on the basis of so called ability, then it was a catastrophic failure of judgement.

He's obviously not inherently Welsh, so why did he presume any right to be leader of the Welsh people? Any decent person with self-awareness would have backed out of that one before they got anywhere near the job.
