This video documents the very last R-32 trainset in passenger service on the (A) Line, EVER. The train was taken out of service at Jay Street as seen here due to an unsanitary condition, a precaution not exaggerated with the city experiencing its first week of a shut down of all non-essential businesses and travel.

Train Consist Information:

N 3614/3615-3469/3468-3514/3515-3646/3647*-3520/3891 S

3514/3515 are historically the last SMEE pair to operate with conductors having to cross between cars and switch cabs in order to open doors on either side.

3614 is historically the very last north motor of the R-32 fleet and any 60-foot SMEE trainset ever running in service on the A, with 3891 being the south. Both pairs were returned to service along the J in Summer 2020. The first SMEE trainset was the R-10 fleet, first in service along the A in 1948. This video shows it departing for the final time ever in history.

*Note - 3646/3647 (along with 3828/3829, 3888/3889 and 3894/3895) have been saved by the NYTM in operational condition for special use such as movie shoots and other special uses.

A not in service R32 (A) train departs the Jay Street - Metrotech station in Brooklyn, NYC, of which would be the final R32 (A) train to ever run in passenger service.

This train was taken out of service due to an unsanitary condition.

On the morning of March 24, 2020 the final R32 train ran in passenger service on the C line.

From July 2 - September 15, 2020 the R-32 fleet was returned to passenger service along the J line for contingency service due to the R-179 fleet temporarily being taken out of service.

The R-32 fleet has since been officially retired from passenger service with retirement trips taken place December 19, 2021 - January 9, 2022.

This video was taken on March 23, 2020 with a Canon R800.
