Really excellent tutorial on draw-boring, the dos and more importantly the don'ts. I've never seen another video that so explicitly lays out the "this looks wrong, and this is how you fix it" of draw bores. Thanks!

Say "jaw dropping draw boring" ten times! Now - what do cows drink? Great explanation and illustration mate. Bench is gonna be mint++. Bumper fell of my missus' car last night and we lost the bolts so I'll give drawboring a go today. 😎

Great Stuff Kuffy, I'm about to dowel the legs and stretchers for the Roubo I'm building. So precise you could be taken for an Engineer LOL Love the pencil sharpener, I just use the belt sander 😜

Great Vid! Didn't know that off-setting the hole too much could just pop that piece of timber out. I can imagine me doing something like that haha.

Dry assembly fit cardboard into shoulder then drill holes .8 mm that’s your gap

Thanks for sharing!! I'm at the drawbore stage of my bench and I'm concerned about your placement as you drill through the mortise piece. On the tenon i get that you put it close to the shoulder to stop the tenon from splitting. I think similar rules might apply to the mortise hole placement and you bored SO close to the edge of the piece that you dont have much wood to support the tremendous force that's pulling your joint tight. Did it hold up well over time or did the mortise piece bow out towards the tenon or even split? Thanks again for the upload and keep building!!

You're only the second bloke I've seen on the Toob using draw boring. Paul Sellers is the other. Does it add strength to the joint or is it just a way of snugging up the joint leaving less likely hood of a gap? All the best and keep up the good work. Brian.
