A Project Management Office (PMO) can be all things to all people. There is so much disagreement about the scope of this office that there is no definition for what a PMO is.
In some instances, a PMO is set up to develop a Standard Operating Procedure for project management along with a set of standard templates. It will then carry on to train staff in the standard approach.

However, at this point, the PMO can run out of steam, usually turning into the “process police” and alienating project managers by insisting on religious adherence to the standard.
At Velopi, we believe that the PMO can have a much more significant role in the organization and would like to introduce possible growth paths for a Project Management Office.

What will be covered:
This 30-minute free workshop will answer the following questions:
• What is a Project Management Office?
• What are the different growth paths for such an office?
• What are the critical success factors for a PMO?
• What metrics should we keep?
• Why do PMOs fail?
