Ivy League Students Vote on the BEST AP Classes

AP Lang is such an important class to take- I’d agree with that one. It really helps you hone in on how to be persuasive & argue well in your writing. Plus how to analyze texts.

I agree with taking AP Lang. It helped me improve on writing essays and writing persuasive essays on different topics. I haven’t had to write as many essays in college though lol

as a brown admit who took the most ap classes i could take at my school, comp sci sucked. it was genuinely the worst class i had ever taken. it could be teacher/school dependent, but you can do far better learning cs on your own.

Even if you don't get college credit for your AP classes, you will atleast have a foundation to build on in college. You will be able to focus more on the stuff you struggled on in high school versus struggling the whole semester.

Never took one STEM AP class in high school, but I took almost all of the commonly available humanities ones. I teach WHAP at the top high school in my city now and I have no regrets 😊

AP Environmental Science and Human Geo are important to enhance your world view and teaches people about the world and their place and ability to make a difference in it. Basically it makes you more well rounded

I am a freshman in a HS that does not offer AP classes freshman year. I managed too convince the academic counselor too put me in APCS A anywa, and it was probably the best decision I have ever made.

When you move schools and they dont let you take ap lang and ap physics because of your grade level even though the last school let you, and now your behind by a bunch of ap credits

Lang would be a good class if the teacher wasn't politically biased and genuinely taught us how to write. The class is subjective and politically loaded. Would not recommend unless your teacher is solid.

As a computer science student, I totally agree with AP lang. At first when I started college I was happy that I wouldn’t have English classes anymore but now my writing skills are suffering a lot, to the point where it’s hard for me to write emails to people. I wish I had understood the importance of English class earlier and not taken it for granted.

As an ivy student the most important classes are the ones that let you skip credits tbh. They free up your schedule to take classes you’re interested in or get ahead within a specific major path. AP lang is only helpful if you had a weak writing foundation in the first place.
