So if you are like me ya might be thinking for that first problem "for the thing to perpendicularly intersect perpendicularly, don't we need the normals to be perpendicular" well the much better way to think about it is ya need the tangent and the normal to be the same, then you realize that the derivative of r ain't the normal. I know funky after having the mindset of "the gradient is perpendicular" we were differentiating in terms of t though, and this is why we review before finals XD
