If multi outlet/port plug ins are being banned, then Royal Carribean needs to provide an acceptable substitute in the staterooms.

I'm with majority here. We NEED those multi-outlets. I mean, they make us use our phones to get onto the ship, to make reservations, to see the daily activities, and in some cases the menus. You can't expect everyone to charge their devices on what is provided. This doesn't sit well with me

If Royal Caribbean is going to to ban those items, they then need to put in more outlets in the cabins.

If Royal Caribbean insists on banning extension cords and multiple plugs, the least they should do is put bedside lamps in the cabins that auxiliary have outlet plugs.

I think Royal Caribbean needs to clarify this new banned item rule. Other videos I have seen on this topic have been saying the ban is only for multiple AC outlets, not multiple USB charging ports and clarifying that would make a HUGE difference. Most people need the ability to have multiple USB charging ports. If Royal Caribbean is truly banning multi USB chargers, that’s going to be a huge problem for a lot of people. They also need to make sure that people with CPAP machines have a way to use them as many rooms don’t have power available next to the beds.

As a CPAP user extension cords are a must have.

Soon we'll see multi outlet adapters for sale with RCCL embossed on them for sale in the ship's store at $75.00 each that are certified fire hazard safe.

People need to charge their electronics so the cruise line should supply the charges that are approved.

I was on RC and MSC, and they had no power outlets for my CPAP machine. I had to ask the room Stewart for an extension cord on the RC cruise which went across the middle of the room. On my last MSC cruise in April, I had brought my own. The outlet was on the other side of the bed behind the headboard.
They were older ships, and newer ones might have more acomidation. We are going on NCL in Nov. and I will bring my extension cord too.

My wife and I both use CPAPs. Most cruise ships have only one plug next to the bed (if that many) so we always bring extension cords. Often cabin stewards will unplug items during the day making it hard to alternate charging of devices. We bring 2 CPAPs, 2 cell phones, and 2 laptops. It is a rare cabin with 6 available power outlets.

That is going to be a problem - they better get more plugs in the rooms.

My wife needs several outlets due to her work. NO sailings for use !

Considering recent events, cruise ships need to make some rules about unsupervised children and minors before worrying about anything else! That is a much larger safety concern.

Royal needs to brand their own approved product and endorse or sell it since updating cabins with more outlets is cost prohibitive.

Got off the Symphony today. They took away our multi plug adapter from us. There were three outlets in the cabin. We have a c-pap machine, a medical cooler, and two mobility scooters. We could not plug it all in at night. We had to set an alarm in the middle of the night to unplug one of the scooters and plug the other in. We were able to plug our phones into the two available usb ports. I am sure some of the older ships do not have usb ports.

One of my son’s is an electrician and he absolutely abhors multi plug extensions. The numbers of people who use them to plug in to power really power hungry items is un believable. Cables get very hot and cook the insulation especially in the wall where there isn’t enough airflow to keep the wiring cool!

To get around this, I usually bring two European type adapter plugs to take advantage of all the available plug outlets in the cabin. These plugs have two or three USB outlets for phones, laptops, iPad, etc...

There are a couple of European outlets in the cabins so bring adapters that will allow you to plug in your US items.

This could be a deal breaker. I’m visually impaired and need to keep multiple devices charged for audio media. I usually room with someone who is on a laptop a lot in addition to using other devices. Between the 2 of us we need multiple devices charging at the same time. Unless I can be sure there are enough outlets in the cabin the no charger block rule would be a reason to choose a different line.

I understand that if it’s a fire hazard they need to ban them, but they also need to join the 21st Century and update the cabins in regard to outlets.

Every port visited by NCL or any cruise line requires fuel. Dropping 28% of the scheduled seven ports by NCL didn’t come with a 28% refund. I would say most people select their cruise based on the itinerary and NCL deciding they would like to save fuel costs comes off like a “bait and switch”.
