This won't excuse me from trying to learn anatomy. HOWEVER, this gives me a lot of relief that just drawing heads will remind me how drawing is still fun and when its not asked of you (like for a commission or assignment) even something as basic as a floating head can still give you and others enjoyment when done right.

This gives me SO much validation. I tried so hard for so many years to achieve a somewhat dragon ball z art style but I was never satisfied with anything below the chest especially hands and feet. Now I've started selling my own art and I feel so much more confident drawing a very simplistic, almost chibi style and stick towards bust drawings or faces and if i do draw a full body character, I do it in a way that I no longer stress much over.

I think a problem with the artistic community is that they take their advice very seriously, like, they don't say "draw more than just floating heads so you can improve and discover new things you like to draw ...blah blah blah" they say "NEVER DRAW FLOATING HEADS!!! " There are no rules of what to do or not do in art, there are only people sharing their experiences.

Draw more than heads and like that, maybe you will discover more things that you like to draw by leaving your comfort zone, but, if you don't do that, there's nothing wrong, its just you being you with your own art 🙂💖

Thats actually so inspirational- i do the same thing im obsessed with legend of zelda and i draw it way too much lol i hope i can improve enough, and get a job at Nintendo, if not for art then coding

THE best way to get good at drawing is to draw what you enjoy and then naturally keep expanding/challenging your limits because you keep finding things that you want to draw that you can't draw yet
