How to add a red circle in imovie (ipad or iphone) .

Every time I try adding circle onto the screen it works, but how do you make the inside stuff go away like if I have a white circle how do you make all the witness go and just have the red circle

Hello - I've tried and tried and I can't get the circle to become transparent once in iMovie. I've tried clicking on the square under the "drag to position" arrows but nothing is working. I've even tried multiple red circle photos. Any suggestions?
